RESORT REVIEW: Seafari Oslob Resort
I have always been fascinated with Cebu. I always wanted to visit and see its natural beauty.. That's why I was so happy when my boyfriend and I scored a seat promo just in time for my birthday!
While checking Agoda, we stumbled upon this famous resort that we keep on seeing on the travel pages on Instagram. It is famous for its Infinity pool overlooking the ocean.
The 10-bedroom Seafari Resort Oslob is an adventure resort located in Oslob Cebu where you can dine and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the City. 15 minutes away from the famous whaleshark area and an easy access to Cebu's must-see tourist spots.
When we arrived pretty late in the Evening, the security guard first checked our booking confirmation and he asked if we have food with us since bringing food inside the premises isn't allowed.
We were a bit surprised when we found out that the whole resort is located at the bottom of a very steep cliff so the guests will have to take stairs, there's no elevator at all.
They have a zipline for your luggages, but since the resort is still under renovation and it was really dark when we arrived, I was a bit worried that the zipline is not that reliable.
Based from the reviews, and from our experience as well, the stairs are the most hated part of the resort. Its not suitable for kids, elderly and people with health conditions.
The resort's One Standard Bedroom Apartment consists of One king-sized bed, one bunk sofabed, dining and kitchen area, private balcony, access to all facilities and a mixture of Cebu-inspired decor.
But first, let me talk about the view! This is what sold me out! Im a sucker for good views.
Most of the rooms has a private balcony with a view like this. I'm not kidding when I say, you don't need to put filters when you take a photo, it is what it is! JAW DROPPING
Next, the bedroom. It's well-maintained. That's it.
Expect tile floors, the usual white walls and wood furnitures.
To be honest, for the price that we paid, I'm expecting white fluffy pillows and those crazy ass 300-thread count duvet. But then again, as long as its clean, I'm fine w/ that.
- One king sized bed
- One closet - no robes, no iron, no slippers
- One shoe closet
- One table lamp
- Air Condition
Everytime I travel, this is what I usually check.. The Bathroom.
Contrary to the bedroom, My boyfriend and I actually like the bathroom interiors. The stone walls bring out that relaxing cabin ambiance
- Hot and Cold Shower with decent water pressure
- Toilet w/o bidet
- Towels, No robes
- Generic toiletries
- No hairdryer
The living room, dining and kitchen area is pretty standard. We weren't able to use the kitchen area since guests are not allowed to bring food inside.
Drinks inside the fridge are too pricey. P60 for a bottle of water. seriously? LOL.
- Flat Screen TV w/ basic cable
- Two bottles of Complimentary water
- Kitchen area but no kitchen equipment
- Free Wifi
No doubt, their famous Infinity pool is the main reason why we booked a room. They have two scenic infinity pools with an amazing view.
Guests can also request drinks or food since the bar is just behind the main pool. There is free use of Cabanas, tables and Chaise lounges surrounding the pool and Its the perfect area especially for couples who want to have a romantic date by the beach.
The only thing we didn't like is they charged extra for the towels.
The Resort also has an outdoor Jacuzzi but we weren't able to use it since it's dirty af.
Guests can easily access the beach from the resort, but as much as we love the view, we didn't enjoy the beach since it's very rocky.
But they can organize special services such as boat ride to Sumilon Island, water activities such as Snorkeling and Diving, and they also have paddleboats for rent during the day.
One of the main features of the resort is the Sundeck Rooftop.
This area is perfect if you just want to lounge, enjoy the sun and the view of the seamingly endless stretch of Oslob Beach.
No fitness and spa area. They staff said they offer room massage, but
Free wifi but weak AF!
The resort can arrange a private transfer but its very costly. They offered a transfer from Oslob to the Airport around P4,000.
We opt to wait for a bus going back to Cebu City instead since its more affordable.
We strongly suggest to find other alternatives. Try to negotiate to other private drivers or ride a public transportation instead.
Guests are not allowed to bring food inside
Complimentary Breakfast is very limited which consists of two toasts, ham and plain omelette plus either coffee or tea. It didn't satisfy us at all. you'll end up buying more food w/c is very overpriced.
Second Night, they served the wrong food, so we had to wait a bit longer until the food arrives.
On our last night, they served us raw chicken, we had to request for them to recook it again.
The Staff are nice, but we really can tell they need more training. They need someone who will manage them. The one who greeted us when we checked-in is also the one who brought our bags in the room. Sometimes we see him at the kitchen area assisting in preparing the food.
My partner and I had a conclusion that they don't have clear job designation, which is really confusing for the guests.
Also, some doesn't have uniforms at all, which is very sloppy looking.
They also charged us an additional P300 on top of the 10% service charge when we checked out, because they said they found food stains on the bedsheets. It took longer to settle the payment since we dont want to pay the ridiculous additional charges.
3/5 stars - NEEDS MORE IMPROVEMENT
- Great views
- Clean Room
- Stairs / No Elevator
- Overpriced and Limited Food Choices
- Staff needs more training
- Some rooms are under construction
- No reception / Weak Wifi Signal
Not gonna lie, we still had a fun experience at the Resort. We definitely love the view. But as I mentioned earlier, the resort really needs a lot of improvement.
